EUROTOX RECENT NEWS & EVENTS - 21 February 2012

  • The Congress of European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT) (London, UK - May 29 - June 1, 2012).  The deadline for reduced registration fee is 16 March 2012.
  • Nano Safety Congress - TURKEY: "Workshop on the safety assessment of nanomaterials: New paradigms" and "Workshop on Genotoxicity Tests to Assess Human Toxicity" (26-28 April 2012, Kemer Resort Hotel, Antalya, Turkey).  Deadline for Early Registration and Accommodation is 25th of February. Deadline for abstract submission is 25th of March.
  • HESI Immuntoxicology Technical Committee Spring 2012 Workshop.  Updating Immunotoxicity Assessments: Approaches and Best Practices for Assessment of Immunotoxicity for Environmental Chemicals.  The workshop will be held in Alexandria, VA, USA, May 15-16, 2012
  • ITCASS meeting (August 30-31, 2012 in Elsinore - Helsingør, Denmark). The 7th meeting of the Immunotoxicology and Chemical Allergy Speciality Section.

Travel Fellowships available for Scientists to attend the SOT - 14 September 2011

The  Society of Toxicology (SOT), the Society of Toxicology Endowment Fund and AstraZeneca are very generously sponsoring eleven $2,000 travel fellowships for scientists to attend the SOT Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California, USA (March 11–15, 2012).  Applicants may be either junior or senior scientists, reside in countries where toxicology is underrepresented, and have an active research program or currently be active in the practice of toxicology.

NC3Rs Roadshows - New Funding and Cross-Sector Collaboration Opportunities - 01 June 2011

CRACK-IT®, a new research engine and funding competition being launched by the NC3Rs this year to connect academic and industrial researchers in solving global scientific challenges associated with animal models in the biosciences – focusing on improving efficiency and translation and minimising reliance on in vivo research.

NC3Rs are hosting a number of regional roadshows to launch CRACK-IT® and highlight the range of funding opportunities being provided. They have also engaged a range of industry speakers who will discuss the current challenges in pharmaceutical and chemical development and the move towards open innovation and new mechanisms for collaboration.
