I’m working in toxicology and looking to develop and progress

Toxicology is an ever-changing field, meaning there are always opportunities to develop your career, broaden your experience or get involved in the wider industry to support the overarching progression of toxicology and the careers of others.

Whatever your aims, there’s plenty of support from across the BTS and beyond.

I’m looking for a job

Many UK based employers of toxicologists advertise new opportunities on our BTS job vacancies page.

The Nature, New Scientist, and jobs.ac.uk may also list broader scientific/academic jobs and studentships relevant to toxicologists.

Toxicologists can work in many different industries, in the Government or as an academic.  If you are thinking of broadening your career, the Types of Toxicology page may spark some ideas.

I’m looking to continue learning

You can find out more about how to continue your professional development, and find details of a number of leading academic and industry run courses to attend, on our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) page.

I’m keen to share my knowledge & experience

Get involved in the BTS: There are lots of ways you can get involved with the BTS. You can find more information about joining the BTS, becoming a mentor, joining a committee, or attending an event on the Join the BTS page or, if you are keen to volunteer for a BTS, contact the BTS Secretariat.

Volunteer for Government Advisory Committees: Many experienced toxicologists in the BTS community offer their knowledge and experience to advise the Government on complex issues around toxicology and chemical safety.
