Dr Lisa Godfrey

Lisa is currently a Project Toxicologist at AstraZeneca where she designs and interprets toxicology research programs to enable clinical development. Following her degree in Biochemistry and Toxicology she was awarded her PhD in 2005 from University of Surrey. Previously Lisa worked at Cancer Research UK’s (CRUK) Centre for Drug Development providing non-clinical expertise for submissions for first time in human studies across different modalities including biologics, small molecules, and nanoparticles. Whilst at CRUK she provided training in preclinical drug development internally and to Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC), guest lectured at University of College London and Institute of Cancer Research on preclinical requirements for submission in line with appropriate guidelines. She has also held posts in academia and industry across fields in oncology, treatment of pain and lipid metabolism.
